Give Something that Means Something
A few popular ideas from our Holiday Gift Catalog.

Having trouble finding the perfect gift for that certain someone on your list? How about giving something that means something by shopping for a gift from the American Red Cross 2014 Holiday Gift Catalog?

Every eight minutes, the Red Cross helps someone in need in this country. You can purchase a symbolic gift from the catalog and give a tax-deductible donation that supports the mission of the Red Cross.

So far, thousands of people have chosen to give a gift through this year’s catalog. Here is a look at some of the most popular gifts this season.

DAY OF EMERGENCY SHELTER Emergencies can cause people to leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. For as little as $50 you can give a full day of emergency shelter to someone affected by disaster, including three meals, two blankets, a cot, snacks and personal hygiene items.

MILITARY COMFORT KITS When a member of the military is wounded, they often arrive at the hospital without any personal items. For $50, you can purchase a military comfort kit which comes filled with items such as a robe, shower shoes, toiletries and a music gift card.

MEASLES VACCINATIONS Measles still kills hundreds of people each day worldwide, mostly children. Together with our Measles & Rubella Initiative partners, you can help the Red Cross provide a critical link in educating families about the danger of both measles and rubella, and the easy solution available to prevent tragedy and loss—vaccinations. $25 can help vaccinate a child overseas and provide protection for life.

HELP WHERE NEEDED MOST A gift of any size to the American Red Cross will save the day when the next emergency strikes. This gift helps when a house burns down in your community, when someone needs CPR or a lifesaving blood transfusion, or when a family needs to contact a deployed service member in an emergency. Your gift supports the many urgent needs of the American Red Cross mission and helps where it’s needed most.

These are just a few of the many meaningful gifts to choose from this year. To find other ways to support American Red Cross work at home and abroad, visit the Red Cross Holiday Giving Catalog.

The purchase of each item from the 2014 Holiday Gift Catalog is a tax-deductible contribution that supports the mission of the Red Cross. The catalog gifts are contributions toward a Red Cross program area, not a donation to a specific project or item. Those who participate will receive free gifts such as a Red Cross Water Bottle for a donation of $100 or more or a Red Cross fleece blanket for a donation of $200 or more.
