Colorado Red Cross Sending Volunteers to South Carolina

Denver, Oct. 17, 2015  – The American Red Cross in Colorado is sending disaster volunteers to help with the flood recovery efforts in South Carolina

 Christina Eyre is deploying to Columbia, SC to work as a supervisor for the Client Casework component. Client caseworkers will meet with each affected family to link them with Red Cross services and the services of other partner organizations, along with local, state and federal agencies.  Eyre is from Denver and is a volunteer with the Mile High Chapter of the Red Cross in Colorado. This will be her seventh deployment to a large scale disaster including the 2013 Colorado Wildfires.

 Roger Hoffer  is deploying to Columbia, SC to work as a supervisor for the Client Casework component. Client caseworkers will meet with each affected family to link them with Red Cross services and the services of other partner organizations, along with local, state and federal agencies. Hoffer is from Littleton and is a volunteer with the Mile High Chapter of the Red Cross in Colorado. Hoffer has deployed to more than a dozen large scale disasters including the 2013 Colorado Floods.

 Rick Farrier is deploying to Columbia, SC to serve as a supervisor with the logistics supply component. The logistics team provide the backbone of support for the Red Cross disaster response by securing and tracking all of the equipment, vehicles and supplies that are needed to help the people affected by the disaster. Farrier is from Fort Collins and is a volunteer with the Red Cross of Northern Colorado.  Farrier has deployed to more than a dozen large scale disasters including the 2013 Colorado Floods.

 The Red Cross responds to 70,000 disasters each year. The best way to help people affected by disasters, both big and small, is to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
