"The best news after the storms cleared the state was that no lives were lost."-Roger Elliot, American Red Cross in Arkansas Disaster Director

As soon as storms weakened Wednesday night, and emergency crews had removed trees from roadways, American Red Cross in Arkansas Disaster Responders headed to Van Buren County, Izard and Lincoln Counties from across the state to aid neighbors in need.

Mobile feeding, emergency shelter and disaster supplies from tarps, work gloves and more are being provided to individuals affected by Wednesday’s tornadoes.

“At this time eighty-two homes received damage from the recent storms,” stated American Red Cross in Arkansas Disaster Director Roger Elliot. “Fifty-two of those homes were destroyed or experienced major damage. The best news after the storms cleared the state was that no lives were lost.”

For disaster assistance related to needs from Wednesday’s storms please call 1-800-REDCROSS or locate your closest Red Cross office.
