You can help by training to become a disaster volunteer

For more than 130 years, the American Red Cross has been helping people down the street, across the country and around the world. You can help by training to become a disaster volunteer that responds to local and national disasters. Training is free and is designed to give you skills to help on the home front.

Week One

  • March 8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ready, Set, Roll for Emergency Response Vehicles
  • March 10, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Disaster Service Overview (Prerequisite for all courses)
  • March 11, 1 to 4 p.m. Psychological First Aid
  • March 12, 1 to 4 p.m. Coaching the Experienced Driver
  • March 13, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Logistics
  • March 13, 1 to 5 p.m. Bulk Distribution
  • March 14, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Government Operations Fundamentals (Prerequisites for this course include: Disaster Services: An Overview, Collaborating Essentials, Shelter Fundamentals and Disaster Assessment Fundamentals)
  • Week Two

  • March 15, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Client Casework
  • March 15, 3 to 5 p.m. Disaster Action Team Workshop
  • March 17, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Disaster Service Overview (Prerequisite for all courses)
  • March 18, 1 to 4 p.m. Disaster Assignment Workshop
  • March 19, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Shelter Fundamentals
  • March 20, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Psychological First Aid
  • March 21, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fundamentals of Disaster Assessment
  • Week Three

    March 24, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Disaster Action Team Workshop
