“Heroes change lives and those we will honor, have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help another person whether it was a family member or a complete stranger. This campaign not only recognizes our amazing donors and fundraisers but also Tri-State heroes in our community.” said Amy Canterbury, Regional Chapter Executive.
Starting Wednesday, Heroes Fundraisers lead by Campaign Chair Norm Bufanno and Co-Chair Linda White will be out raising money for the Red Cross’ largest annual fundraiser, the 2012 Heroes Campaign. The public is asked to help support the fundraising efforts by becoming a hero and helping to raise $1,000 with a total goal of raising $200,000. People can donate online through our website tristateredcross.org or by taking part in Heroes Fundraisers that will take place in the upcoming months.
“This is our largest and most critical annual campaign, raising funds to help support services provided to our community during times of disaster,” said Norm Bufanno, Chair, 2013 Heroes Campaign. “Whether we are assisting a family by helping them pick up the pieces after their home caught fire or answering a call for blood, our community can count on the presence of the Red Cross,” Bufanno added.
The Heroes Banquet will be held on May 16 at the Centre in Evansville.
About the American Red Cross
Governed by volunteers and supported by giving individuals and communities, the American Red Cross is the single largest supplier of blood products to hospitals throughout the United States. While local hospital needs are always met first, the Red Cross also helps ensure no patient goes without blood no matter where or when they need it. In addition to providing nearly half of the nation’s blood supply, the Red Cross provides relief to victims of disaster, trains millions in lifesaving skills, serves as a communication link between U.S. military members and their families, and assists victims of international disasters or conflicts.
