FOX Racing Shox, a Scotts Valley, CA, company, worked with Santa Cruz Bicycles to build a custom mountain bike for the American Red Cross Santa Cruz County Chapter 2013 Celebrate the Red Gala, valued at $3,000.

FOX not only built the bike but also sponsored a table at the Gala, held at the Cocoanut Grove Ballroom on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk on September 27.

Gary Peters, director of human resources at FOX and recently elected board member of the Santa Cruz County Chapter, said the night went very well.

“There was a lot of excitement about the bike, I think it went for $2,200,” Gary said.

Santa Cruz Bicycles, a high-end bicycle shop, donated the Santa Cruz Tallboy frame, while FOX Racing Shox donated the components and built the bike.

Gary added FOX is looking forward to partnering with the Red Cross over the long term, describing it as “one of the best run organizations, they’ve touched so many lives.”

FOX, established 30 years ago, designs, and manufactures high-performance suspension products for mountain bikes, motorcycles and other off-road vehicles. FOX also sponsors a number of athletic and community events including Santa Cruz Bike 2 Work Day.
