Fire Displaces Nearly 150 People, Red Cross Opens Shelter

Red Cross staff are on scene and more workers are en route to provide comfort and care to those that lost their homes to the blaze.

The Red Cross has responded to an early morning fire at Kinston Towers that affected nearly 150 residents. The local Red Cross along with emergency management, Kinston Housing Authority and Kinston Parks & Recreation have opened a shelter at the Fairfield Recreation Center (800 Greenbriar Rd, Kinston) for those that were displaced from the fire. Red Cross staff are on scene and more workers are en route to provide comfort and care to those that lost their homes to the blaze.
