First Energy Foundation Contribute to NEPA Chapters

On behalf of the American Red Cross, we are extremely grateful to receive this $25,000 check from First Energy Foundation & Met Ed towards our Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief efforts.

On January 25, 2013, Pocono Chapter Executive Jim Rienhardt received a $25,000 check on behalf of First Energy Foundation to support relief efforts for residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The grant will be distributed to local American Red Cross chapters in Berks, Monroe and Bucks counties to support relief efforts in hard-hit areas. In the NEPA Region, that includes both the Poconos and Berks Chapters.

Jim Rienhardt, Exec. Director Pocono Chapter said, "On behalf of the American Red Cross, we are extremely grateful to receive this $25,000 check from First Energy Foundation & Met Ed towards our Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief efforts. Residents in Monroe and Berks Counties were unfortunately hit the hardest from this national natural disaster. The Red Cross provided shelters, warming stations, food, clothing, water, medications, comfort kits, blankets and mental health services for hundreds of individuals during a 7- day span of time We thank First Energy for being a Red Cross Major Partner during this time of need!”

The FirstEnergy Foundation will match all gifts employees make to the Red Cross during this crisis.
