General Mills Foundation recently awarded the Northeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross a $7000 grant to support disaster response and relief in the seven counties served by the local chapter.
The Northeast Missouri Chapter provides water and food to firefighters and emergency crews battling fires, and the donated dollars help shelter, feed and clothe those who have been driven from their homes and communities.
Residents who are involved in disasters will face destruction and hardship. In the aftermath, the Red Cross provides mental health support to help residents cope and recover. In the weeks and months ahead, the Red Cross will continue working closely with local partners to address needs and connect those affected to resources and services to get their lives back on track.
