Glendale Red Cross Youth Share Holiday Spirit

Holiday Mail For Heroes Card from Glendale Youth
The Glendale Chapter’s Youth Group found time to make the holidays merrier for others around the world.

In addition to studying for exams, filling out college applications and helping at the Glendale Chapter’s November Comedy Show, members of the Glendale Chapter’s Youth Group found time to make the holidays merrier for others around the world.

The Youth participated in the annual Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign by making over 35 holiday cards, complete with signed personal messages, which the Red Cross will forward to veterans, military families and active-duty service members at hospitals and installations around the world. You can imagine what this effort means to past and present members of our military and their families.

The Youth Group also assembled 25 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, filling the shoe boxes with hard candies, school supplies, toy cars, hair accessories, hygiene items – and even Red Cross first aid kits. The boxes go to underprivileged children around the world and will certainly give those kids a merrier Christmas.

The residents of Windsor Manor retirement home will be in for a treat before Christmas when the Youth Group visits them. About 20 Youth will sing carols, hand out holiday cards, visit with the residents and even play games with Red Cross items as prizes.
