The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts welcomed a special visitor last week: Dr. Mohamud Sheikh Nurein Said.

Dr. Said, Governor of the Kenya Red Cross, was in town to accept the 2013 Harris Wofford Global Citizen Award from the National Peace Corps Association.

Harris Wofford, appointed by President John F. Kennedy to help create the Peace Corps, presented Dr. Said with award, which honors an outstanding global leader whose life was influenced by the Peace Corps and whose career contributed significantly to their nation and the world.

Staff members in Cambridge were thrilled to meet Dr. Said, who has dedicated his life to serving others.
