This March, which is celebrated nationwide as Red Cross Month, a group of local “Heroes” is working hard to help the Red Cross continue its services in Tippecanoe, Carroll, Benton and White counties. Please join us as we kick off the 2013 “Heroes for the American Red Cross” campaign to introduce and honor this year’s “Heroes.”
The kick-off event will be held on Wednesday, February 27th at the Tippecanoe County Chapter at 12:00pm.
An individual or workplace becomes a “Hero” by agreeing to raise money for the American Red Cross. The funds, which all stay local, may be raised in a variety of ways. The goals of the campaign are:
For more than 98 years, volunteers with the Tippecanoe County Chapter have been heroes to thousands of people throughout the Greater Lafayette area, lending aid during times of disaster, supporting military families and training citizens in lifesaving CPR and first aid skills.
“Heroes for the American Red Cross” is a grassroots campaign where local business people, school groups, church groups, civic clubs, and individuals pledge to raise $1,100 for their local Red Cross chapter. This year, the Tippecanoe County Chapter hopes to raise $80,000 during this campaign to support Red Cross services including disaster relief, assistance for fire victims, emergency military communications, first aid and CPR training and disaster preparedness information for our community. All money raised will support your neighbors in Tippecanoe, Carroll, Benton and White counties.
