Latest Red Cross SAF Team to Deploy to Downrange
Twice a year the American Red Cross deploys personnel to staff our Service to Armed Forces offices in Kuwait and Djibouti. They work to provide the full array of quality services that our men and women in uniform have come to expect from the Red Cross.
“We often speak about providing ‘service at the point of contact,’ but few of us know or remember those special few Red Crossers who work alongside our military and civilian personnel supporting missions in far flung parts of the world,” said Koby Langley, senior vice president for Service to the Armed Forces at the American Red Cross. “It takes a lot of commitment, passion, and character to leave your family, your home and your friends for six months at a time to serve this part of the SAF mission.”
This team is made up of a veteran, a military spouse, and three career Red Cross personnel. They hail from Kansas, California, Italy and Japan. Three members of the team will be at Camp Arifjan with one at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The fifth member of the team will staff our office at Camp Lemmonier, Djibouti.
“Please join me is wishing our teammates a safe journey and much success in their work,” said Langley.
