RIVERSIDE, Calif. – This past weekend, the American Red Cross of Riverside County chapter deployed 9 volunteers to Mississippi and Alabama. In addition, Julie Pardini, the chapter’s Emergency Services Director was also deployed to Alabama as a “Multi-State Disaster Director”.
The following are the deployed volunteers:
Most assignments are for a 2 week period. Volunteers will be working in family services (client casework) and other functions that are needed.
Tornadoes and floods have devastated communities and uprooted families across many states, and the Red Cross is working hand-in-hand with our federal and community partners to get assistance to people in need and help them recover. More than half of the country – from North Dakota to the East Coast – has been affected by severe weather in the past two weeks, and watches and warnings remain in effect today.
