Mile High Red Cross Seeks Hero Nominations

Mile High Seeks Heroes Nominations
Winners will be honored at the annual Red Cross Breakfast of Champions, a celebration of the Red Cross spirit as exemplified in life-saving heroes in Colorado

Colorado has experienced an unprecedented year of tragedies and challenges. Out of these incidents, heroes have emerged and we have learned that, together, we can triumph over tragedy. The American Red Cross would like to celebrate this spirit of Colorado Overcoming and honor Colorado heroes who have saved lives, worked tirelessly to help others, and contributed to the healing and recovery of their fellow residents.

The Red Cross Mile High Chapter is seeking nominations of these community heroes for recognition during the annual American Red Cross Mile High Chapter Breakfast of Champions.

Heroes may be individuals, corporations, groups or even pets that have made a difference during emergencies large or small – from house fires and heart attacks to the wildfires and tragic shooting that occurred this summer.

Nominations may be submitted online at www.RedCross.org/Colorado-nominate. The deadline for nominations is October 31, 2012.

Winners will be honored at the annual Red Cross Breakfast of Champions, a celebration of the Red Cross spirit as exemplified in life-saving heroes in Colorado. It’s also the American Red Cross Mile High Chapter’s largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds benefit local Red Cross services such as disaster response, preparedness education, services to the armed forces, and lifesaving training like CPR, First Aid and AED.

A selection committee will review all of the nominations and choose award winners among the following

categories:

Animal Lifesaver Award

• Adult Lifesaver

• Military Lifesaver

• Youth Lifesaver

• Red Cross Trained Lifesaver

• Professional Lifesaver

• Healthcare Hero Award

• Corporate Leadership

• Commitment to Community

• Spirit of the Red Cross (This person or group embodies the Spirit of the Red Cross by exemplifying our 7 fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.)

Make sure to also mark your calendars and save the date for Breakfast of Champions. It’s an event you’ll never forget; you’ll leave inspired and will also be supporting the work of the Red Cross right here in our community:
