The American Red Cross Northeastern New York Region (ARCNENY) recently received notification of a $7,500 grant award from the Hudson River Bank & Trust Company Foundation of Hudson, NY.
“The Hudson River Bank & Trust Co. Foundation is focused on supporting wonderful organizations like the American Red Cross,” said Carl Florio, Director for The Hudson River Bank & Trust Co. Foundation. “American Red Cross programs have strengthened our community by serving the families in need in the area and we are pleased to extend our partnership with this donation.”
Hudson River Bank & Trust Company Foundation (HRBT) has been awarding grants and other generous support to the Red Cross since 2002. This year’s grant will support preparedness and disaster relief specifically in Columbia County, NY. The Foundation also made a $10,000 donation this past fall to help with Red Cross Superstorm Sandy relief and recovery efforts, which continues to this day.
“We’re very fortunate to continue to receive such strong support from Hudson River Bank & Trust Company Foundation,” said Gary Striar, CEO for the American Red Cross Northeastern New York Region. “This funding for disaster relief in Columbia County increases our capacity to respond to local emergencies with the necessary staff and resources.”
With the funding from HRBT’s grant, the Red Cross will continue to be on the scene of disasters and emergencies offering aid and comfort to those who have lost everything. Emergency preparedness training will also be offered to help Columbia County residents help themselves before an emergency situation or disaster occurs.
