More Ways to Give Something that Means Something this Season
Companies and Retailers Offer More Ways to Support the Lifesaving Mission of the Red Cross
The American Red Cross Holiday Giving Page is one way you can help those in need this holiday season while honoring a friend, family member or colleague with your financial donation, but there are also other easy ways to support the humanitarian services and mission of the Red Cross – including ways to give while you shop this holiday season!
Give While You Shop at Circle K
If you’re heading out to shop at your local Circle K store on the West Coast or in Florida, look for collection canisters at checkout to make an easy contribution to the Red Cross. In addition to collecting customer donations this holiday season, Circle K stores in the West Coast division are providing holiday stockings for needy children, and Florida Circle K stores will collect cards in support of the Red Cross Holidays for Heroes program.
Drive for Good with Mazda
Whether you’re in the market for a car for yourself or looking to make someone else’s holiday merry and bright with an extra special gift, Mazda and its Dealers invite you to Drive for Good this season. When you lease or purchase a new Mazda vehicle during the Mazda Drive for Good Event November 21 – January 3, Mazda provides you with the opportunity to direct a $150 donation to the Red Cross among other charities. And, when you test-drive a Mazda vehicle November 21 through January 3, Mazda employees will pledge an hour of volunteer time to worthy causes, including the Red Cross.
You Shop, Amazon Gives
Sign on to AmazonSmile and designate the American Red Cross as your preferred charity, and then begin your virtual shopping trips at smile.amazon.com. You’ll find the same selection and prices as on www.amazon.com, but when you check out, AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of each eligible item to the Red Cross.
Purchase Gifts that Give Back on eBay
Support the American Red Cross when you shop for holiday gifts on eBay. Starting on Giving Tuesday (November 29), eBay customers can purchase symbolic Gifts That Give Back to help those in need – from warm blankets for families displaced by floods to a night’s stay in a shelter for wildfire evacuees – these gifts provide hope and comfort when all is lost. Customers will receive a digital certificate with their purchase to email or print as a gift for someone special, and eBay is waiving all fees to ensure that 100% of the purchase price will support the American Red Cross. Available through December 24th, these gifts are perfect for all of your last minute holiday shopping needs!
Give 101 Percent with PayPal
From #GivingTuesday through the month of December, when you donate to the Red Cross through the PayPal Giving Fund, PayPal will add 1 percent to every donation made. And, PayPal passes on 100 percent of every donation made to the Red Cross.
Give of Yourself
Of course financial donations are critical to the operation of nonprofit organizations, but the Red Cross also relies heavily on those who give of themselves. During the busy holiday season, the Red Cross wants to express its deepest gratitude for people who volunteer their time and donate blood and platelets to help others. The need for help is constant. In as little as an hour, you can make a difference and help save up to three lives by donating blood. Work with your company to host a blood drive for an even greater impact, or sign up to become a Red Cross volunteer. You can learn more about how donating your time or blood can help save a life by visiting redcross.org.
Whether you give through the Red Cross holiday giving page, make a contribution through one of these generous companies or donate your blood or time, you will reap the joy that comes from giving something that means something this holiday season.
