Real Heroes Breakfast
The Red Cross wants to honor and celebrate these individuals during local community heroes events.

Who’s your Hero? The American Red Cross is looking for local heroes. Do you know someone who has performed an extraordinary act of courage? Or someone who has dedicated countless hours to a special cause? The Red Cross wants to honor and celebrate these individuals during local community heroes events.

If your hero is 18 or older, submit your nomination online or download the nominations form and tell us why the person you have nominated is a hero. You can email the form to Cindy Pfennig or mail it to 2912 S. 80th Ave, Omaha, NE 68124.

Award decisions are based on the information you provide, so be detailed and include as much supporting material as possible.

Students, we want to hear about your Hero as well! If you are in grades 5 to 8 from any school in Burt, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders or Washington counties in Nebraska and Harrison, Mills, or Pottawattamie counties in Iowa are invited to write about their own “Heartland Hero”. Our selection committee will choose seven winners and each one will receive $100! The cash awards will be presented at the winner’s school in January 2016. Essay award winners, along with their parents/guardians and their heroes, will be invited to attend the 16th Annual American Red Cross Heroes in the Heartland luncheon awards ceremony. Share your story by downloading the Essay form, or by clicking the “Essay Hero” button. You can email your entry to Cindy Pfennig or mail it to 2912 S. 80th Ave, Omaha, NE 68124. Start writing!
