The American Red Cross in Oklahoma is hard at work making, signing and mailing holiday cards for those who are bravely serving their country.
The Red Cross is currently accepting cards for the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. It’s a great program that benefits the military, veterans and their families. Thousands of holiday cards are handmade or simply signed by people across the country. These cards are then distributed around the world to America’s heroes, sent by tens of thousands of Americans, to provide a warm touch of home for our troops during the holiday season. The Red Cross is proud to support the many men and women who are not able to be with family and loved ones during the holidays.
The Oklahoma City office held a card making/signing event for staff, volunteer and the community. Fire chiefs from the Oklahoma City Metro even took some time to make these cards, one of whom saying it was an honor to do so.
