Orleans, VT Home Fire

American Red Cross volunteers were on scene to assist the family and to support the first responders.

Multiple fire departments contended with frigid overnight temperatures to combat a house fire at 33 Irasburg Street in Orleans, Vermont last night. Despite their best efforts, the home was lost and 3 residents were displaced. American Red Cross volunteers were on scene to assist the family and to support the first responders.

Red Cross volunteers with the Orleans County Disaster Action Team met with the displaced residents to assess emergency needs. The three residents made plans to stay with nearby family, but the Red Cross provided financial support to help replace food and clothing lost in the blaze. Additionally, referrals were made for other state, local and charitable resources in the area that can help the impacted residents as they begin their difficult road to recovery.

Along with the assistance provided to the displaced residents, the Red Cross volunteers lent their support to the multiple responding fire departments, State Police and ambulance personnel who were on scene. The Red Cross provided food and beverage to the assembled emergency personnel.
