This morning, the Black Hills Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a residential fire in Rapid City. The home sustained major damage, displacing a family of seven.

The Red Cross responded immediately following a call from local dispatch. Our team was able to comfort the family while firefighters suppressed the fire. "Thankfully, the family was alerted by a fire alarm and escaped without harm." (Richard Smith -Executive Director)

Through the generosity of our donors, we were able to provide this family with a safe place to stay, food, clothing and essentials to help them begin their recovery.
