AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah is the lead sponsor for a new training program in Disaster Preparedness called Ready, Set, Respond! This innovative training is available to anyone wanting to register through June 30, 2014.
“AAA is a proud partner with the American Red Cross. We are dedicated to the safety of our communities and their ability to respond in any type of disaster,” said Paul Gaffney, President and CEO of AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. “This program is unique as we are not only reaching out to our employees and members, but to the Southern Nevada community as well, giving everyone an opportunity to learn personal readiness skills that could save lives.”
The training program is 90 minutes, and it teaches participants about potential disaster hazards in their communities, and providing fundamental personal preparedness skills. The workshop begins with personal preparedness instruction, and is followed by interactive exercises to prepare participants how to respond in times of need.
Additionally, the program informs participants on how the Red Cross volunteer intake process works during a major disaster response, as well as provides information on the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross.
The American Red Cross and AAA intend to multiply the number of Southern Nevadans that are disaster ready through this new disaster educational opportunity.
Classes are also open to the general public and we encourage everyone to register at http://philanthropy.go.aaa.com/respond/
