Red Cross Assists Thomasboro Family After Fire Destroys Home

On Wednesday afternoon, Champaign-based Red Cross staff and disaster volunteers responded to a mobile home fire in Thomasboro and provided Red Cross emergency assistance to a displaced family of three.

The fire destroyed the family's mobile home, and the two adults and one infant were given assistance for food, infant formula, clothing, and a stay at a local hotel. Referrals, blankets, and comfort kits were also given to the family.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. The best way to help those affected by disasters is through a financial donation to the American Red Cross. Donations of money help tailor disaster relief to the needs of victims and restore the economic vitality of disaster-affected communities. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters.
