LAUREL, MISS., FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 2013 – Beginning tomorrow, volunteers and staff from the American Red Cross East Central Mississippi Chapter will provide canteen support for responders involved in an oil spill containment mission in Wayne County. They will remain on-scene as long as needed to provide food and beverage for those involved. Wayne County Emergency Manager Angela Atchison requested Red Cross canteen services to begin tomorrow.
All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of disaster events in Mississippi and thousands of other disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
