The emergency responder. The lifeguard at your local pool. A trusted babysitter. Each year, an average of more than 9 million people gain the skills they need to prepare for and respond to emergencies through American Red Cross training.
One quarter of Americans say they’ve been in a situation where someone needed CPR, and the American Red Cross ensures that they know how to quickly respond to save lives.
During the month of March, Red Cross Month, the Mid Illinois Chapter would like to recognize the individuals who have taken our training to make our community a healthier, safer place and encourage others to get trained. Last year, 1,418 people in the Decatur area learned to save a life through Red Cross CPR training.
“Regardless of age or occupation, our health and safety courses offer peace of mind to all who participate,” said Carl Baker, Executive Director. “No one expects to be faced with an emergency situation. The Red Cross can help you to be prepared with the right knowledge and skills to respond when the time comes.”
With full service training, community classes, authorized provider training or classroom and online options, the American Red Cross is the most trusted training provider of health and safety training that meets OSHA guidelines and many other professional and regulatory standards.
