Red Cross Distributes Food & Relief Items in Atlantic City, NJ

Storm weary Atlantic City residents were relieved that the Red Cross was there to help them in their time of need.

Pictured here is a Red Cross mobile distribution center that was set up on November 11, 2012, Veteran's Day, in downtown Atlantic City to get much-needed emergency relief supplies to those hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy.

The South Jersey Region of the Red Cross distributed clean-up kits, water, buckets, shovels, blankets, gloves and food to many Atlantic City residents.

Storm weary Atlantic City residents were relieved that the Red Cross was there to help them in their time of need. "And we will continue to be," said Charley Shimanski, senior vice president of Disaster Services for the Red Cross. “Our focus is on serving those in need.”
