Some homes made it out of last weekend’s blizzard unscathed. Some never lost power, and some only had snow piles to deal with.
But not everyone made it out without damage.
Some homes, particularly those near the water, sustained flooding and water damage. Power is still out in parts of the state, and rubble litters some yards. That’s where the Red Cross comes in.
Volunteers on Wednesday began distributing clean up kits to affected neighborhoods – driving through communities and seeing who needed the help.
Armed with mops, squeegees, gloves, masks and cleaning supplies, volunteers are still driving around dropping off kits to those who need them.
