Red Cross Has Closed the Shelter in Lusk, WY

Lusk, WY,1 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015 – The American Red Cross has closed the emergency shelter in Lusk, WY. The Recovery Assistance Center remains open to support individual client requests and cleanup supplies are still available at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds.

The Recovery Assistance Center will remain open through Sunday. After that individual assistance will be available by calling 307-334-3534. Red Cross encourages those in need of assistance to visit the Recovery Assistance Center or call to speak to a recovery specialist.

Since the incident began on June 4, the Red Cross has provided the following:

 Overnight stays – 224 (includes local residents, responders and Red Cross support staff)

 Meals - 1687

 Cleanup Kits -161

 Recovery Assistance Cases opened - 53

 Number of Individuals served in those cases – 137

 Number of Red Cross staff supporting on site - 34

Recovery service, support and supplies provided by the American Red Cross are free and considered a gift from the American public. Red Cross volunteers will always wear official Red Cross logos and carry Red Cross identification.
