Red Cross Helps 14 KU Students After Overnight Apartment Fire

The American Red Cross is helping 14 University of Kansas students displaced by an overnight apartment fire in Lawrence. Financial assistance for hotel lodging, food, and clothing is being provided to those affected. In addition, the Red Cross is partnering with KU to assist students with replacing textbooks, school supplies, and computers. Jane Blocher and several volunteers from the Douglas County Chapter were on scene providing Red Cross assistance overnight. The Douglas County Chapter is one of seven chapters of the American Red Cross in the Kansas City region.
