Red Cross Helps Families Affected by Apartment Fire

Several Families Provided with Recovery Help

Denver, Monday, March 28, 9:25 a.m. – The Disaster volunteers from the American Red Cross of the Mile High Area rallied to support families affected by a fire at the Federal View Apartments, 26th and Federal in Denver overnight.

A team of four disaster action team responders met with people and provided direct support to 11 people overnight and to an additional family of 4 this morning. Meanwhile additional residents were taken to area hospitals and Red Cross team will be meeting with them today to determine what support they need. As of 9:00 a.m. the Red Cross has helped 15 people by providing support for temporary lodging, clothing and emotional support. Casework for this incident will continue as needed to support the people affected.
