Red Cross Humbled by the Lifelong Work of Colleen Berzok

She was just unbelievable at teaching children how to swim. She was the trainer of trainers.

By all accounts the American Red Cross is the gold standard for aquatics training. As such, we are deeply humbled by the passion and lifelong work of Colleen Berzok, known as Coach Colleen to her students. She spent countless hours in the water teaching hundreds, if not thousands, of babies and toddlers how to swim. Through these lessons, a part of Colleen will live on forever in the children she taught.

“I’ve never witnessed anybody who was so good at what they did” said Eric, Colleen’s proud and devoted husband.

“She was just unbelievable at teaching children how to swim. She was the trainer of trainers,” he continued. “And the American Red Cross helped train her to be the standout which she will always be remembered as.”

The American Red Cross recognizes swimming as a critical lifesaving skill. To honor Colleen’s devotion to teaching children how to swim, a special charitable partnership has been established as the Red Cross celebrates 100 years of swimming with the Centennial Campaign. Please visit www.coachcolleen.org to recognize an important mission of the American Red Cross and Colleen which is "Everyone should have the opportunity to learn the lifesaving skill of swimming."
