Red Cross Opens Shelter in Franklin County for Stranded Motorists

Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013: The American Red Cross has opened a shelter in Wellsville, KS (Franklin County) for stranded/rescued motorists on I-35 or Highway 33. The Red Cross is coordinating with Franklin County Emergency Management, Franklin County EMS, and Wellsville Fire who are helping stranded motorists and giving them the option of going home via another route or to the Red Cross shelter. The shelter location is: United Methodist Church of Wellsville 302 Locust Wellsville, KS The shelter has been open since 11:00 am today and a local restaurant has donated food.
