The American Red Cross is opening a shelter to assist those who have been displaced by the flash flooding in Middletown and Lower Swatara Twp. over the weekend. The shelter, which will open at 5:00 p.m. today, will be located at:
Middletown Middle School - 215 Oberlin Road, Middletown, PA 17057
The shelter will provide food, a safe place to sleep and support for local residents who have experienced flooding or storm damage at their homes.
Those coming to a shelter should bring identification and their personal medications and medical supplies with them. It is also recommended that people bring blankets, pillows, extra clothing, personal hygiene items, any infant/child items and important documents.
All American Red Cross disaster assistance is provided free of charge and is made possible by the voluntary donations of time and money from caring individuals and, in part, by contributions given through the United Way.
