Due to Wednesday evening's heavy rains, areas of Roanoke (Woodford County) experienced rising water and flooding. As a result, the Red Cross opened a shelter on Wednesday evening at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 202 W Lincoln in Roanoke for families who are forced to evacuate their homes.
Anyone in this area that is affected by flood waters should seek refuge at the shelter.
As of Thursday morning, eight residents had stayed in the shelter overnight.
