Red Cross Responds to Apartment Complex Fire in Norton Shores

Red Cross Disaster Response volunteers assisted evacuees in the 12 degree temperatures around 2 a.m. Sunday after a fire broke out at the Lake Forest Apartments at 581 Lake Forest Lane in Norton Shores,

Two apartment units with 12 apartments each were forced outside because of the fire. One of the units was destroyed or heavily damaged.

Twelve trained Red Cross Volunteers responded on the scene to provide comfort for the evacuees.

The residents were provided a place to stay, food, clothing, comfort kits, and any necessary medical needs.
