FRANKLIN, Tennessee, December 18, 2013 – Red Cross staff and volunteers have been coordinating with the Hickman County Emergency Management Agency to see how they can best assist those who have been evacuated after a late morning fire at the Industrial Plastic Co. Inc. on Plant Road in Lyles.
An emergency response vehicle filled with snacks and water and a Disaster Action Team are currently preparing to deploy from Nashville to the affected area to provide feeding and sheltering as needed.
“Red Cross officials are monitoring this incident very closely and we will continue to send our volunteers and resources to the affected community as we get further requests by the local Emergency Management Agency,” said Bobby Young, Disaster Program Manager. “It is always our priority to assist people with immediate emergency needs after any disaster.”
