Red Cross Responds to Multiple Fires


NORTHEAST - October 30, 2012- Red Cross staff and volunteers where busy late Monday evening responding to structure fires in two separate counties. The first in Carter County on Rainbow Circle was destroyed and volunteers provided a motel room and emergency needs for one individual. Red Cross volunteers were again summoned to a residential fire in Bluff City on Hill Crest Drive to provided a family of two with emergency needs. The American Red Cross shelters,feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nations blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and there families.
