At a Red Cross shelter, families will find a safe place to stay, emotional support, food and help.

Powerful storms moved through the area on Memorial Day causing damage to homes in the community of Riverton, IL. In response, the Illinois Capital Area Chapter of the Red Cross opened a shelter to serve families affected by the storm. Those in need of shelter should go to Riverton Community High School located at 841 N. 3rd Street in Riverton.

At a Red Cross shelter, families will find a safe place to stay, emotional support, food and help.

Volunteers are also providing mobile feeding today to those cleaning up after the storm in the chapter's Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV).

All Red Cross disaster assistance is free and is only made possible by the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers.
