Red Cross Spreads Holiday Cheer to America’s Service Members

Holiday Mail for Heroes
“It just takes a moment to sign a card to share your appreciation for the sacrifices members of the military community make.” - Suzanne Fradette, board chair of the American Red Cross of Orange County

SANTA ANA, Calif. – While military deployments and hospital stays may keep many of our nation’s heroes away from their families this holiday season, from now until Dec. 7, the Red Cross invites the public to show their support by sending words of encouragement, gratitude and cheer.

“It just takes a moment to sign a card to share your appreciation for the sacrifices members of the military community make,” said Suzanne Fradette, board chair of the American Red Cross of Orange County, “You say thanks, we’ll do the rest.”

Each card received is screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes, then reviewed and sorted by Red Cross volunteers before being delivered to service members, veterans and their families.

Cards should be sent to: Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

More detailed information and card requirements can be found at redcross.org/holidaymail, but here are a few to get started:
