Red Cross helps Fort Royal families

The Red Cross is the only agency that goes right to the scene of house fires to meet with families.

The American Red Cross responded Thursday evening to a home fire on Lexie Lane in Front Royal. The Red Cross is providing financial assistance to help two adults with meals and clothing. "Our first priority in any disaster is to get help to people as quickly as possible," said Lorrie Rhoton, Disaster Services Manager for the Red Cross. "We will continue working with the family to help them on their road to recovery."

The Red Cross is the only agency that goes right to the scene of house fires to meet with families. The Red Cross is not a government agency and relies solely upon monetary gifts from the community. You can help people affected by disasters like house or apartment fires, as well as countless crises at home and around the world, by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters. They can be mailed to the Top of Virginia Chapter office at 561 Fortress Drive, Winchester, VA.
