AIKEN, S.C. – The Red Cross invites middle and high school students to participate in the 7th annual Heroes Jr. Golf Outing to be held this Memorial Day, May 27 at Houndslake Country Club in Aiken.
The Golf Outing is open to all middle and high school students in Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell and Edgefield counties. Generous individual and corporate donors from the community have offered to sponsor each registered team, so all participants will play for free. In addition to a free round of golf, players will enjoy lunch, dinner and an awards ceremony with prizes thanks to the following Presenting Sponsors: Tognum America, Hubbell Power Systems, Aiken Pest Control, Houndslake Country Club, Nike Golf and Southeastern Tool Company, Inc.
Event check-in begins at noon and golfing will begin with a 12:30 p.m. shot-gun start. Pre-registration for the Golf Outing is required by Friday, May 17. To register, call Lindsay Findley at (803) 641-4152.
All proceeds will benefit the programs and services of the local Red Cross. Since July 1, 2012, the Aiken Area Chapter has provided emergency relief such as food, clothing and shelter to 264 local residents who have been devastated by house fires.
The Aiken Area Chapter’s Board of Directors is currently accepting additional sponsorships for the Heroes Jr. Golf Outing. To learn more about the event or how to support the services and mission of the American Red Cross, please call (803) 641-4152.
