When the Kendall Square Association usually has its monthly meetup, it’s at a bar, hosted by a local company and featuring a nonprofit.
But when the nonprofit is the Red Cross, well then it gets interesting. The Third Thursday meetup held at Eastern Massachusetts headquarters on Jan. 17 featured a for-profit partner, HubSpot, which donated the evening’s fare.
Representing the Kendall Square Association, Founder and CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center Tim Rowe offered opening remarks noting the Red Cross had not yet been welcomed to Kendall Square (after several years on Main Street). HubSpot’s Head of Global Marketing Relations Dan Slagen enthusiastically endorsed the work of the Red Cross, highlighting the E-book HubSpot recently produced about the Red Cross’ Holiday Campaign.
The event was held in the Disaster Operations Center and nearby conference room on the first floor of headquarters, and offered attendees the opportunity to talk to Red Cross program managers face-to-face. HubSpot donated fare to the event, which included beer from Cambridge Brewing Company and food from Above and Beyond.
