Red Cross to Commemorate Harveyville Tornado

It’s a time to come together as a community,” said Jo Ann Long, Regional Development Director for the Kansas Capital Area Chapter of the Red Cross, “and to celebrate the growth and continued tight-knit community that remains in Harveyville.

The American Red Cross Kansas Capital Area Chapter is partnering with the Harveyville Fire Department to commemorate the EF-2 tornado that struck the small town one-year ago on February 28.

On February 28, at 5:30pm The Fire Department and the Red Cross will host a Community Gathering with a Chili Feed, cookies, coffee, and an opportunity to share stories in observance of the night the tornado hit.

The event is open to the public.
