The American Red Cross – Tennessee Volunteer Region is proud to partner with FiftyForward RSVP to collect books and magazines for patients and visitors of Nashville's VA Hospital. FiftyForward RSVP volunteers will be collecting reading material, including books and magazines for children and adults, at all seven FiftyForward Center locations throughout Davidson and Williamson Counties from April 1st through April 19th. Red Cross volunteers will then pick up the donations from each center on Monday, April 22nd.
"The Red Cross, Service to the Armed Forces program is pleased to be partnering with FiftyForward RSVP to meet the needs of our military veterans seeking care at the VA Hospital in Nashville. The VA lacks funds to purchase such items, therefore without donations such as these, VA waiting areas would not be able to offer reading material for the comfort and enjoyment of their patients and visitors." Rebekah Brummett, Service to the Armed Forces Specialist.
ARC and FiftyForward volunteers will sort through the donated materials the week of April 22nd and plan to deliver and distribute to patients at the VA hospital in Nashville on Thursday, April 25th. FiftyFoward RSVP serves as a volunteer center for adults 55 and older. RSVP volunteers provide meaningful service to more than 70 nonprofit agencies, public organizations, and elementary schools in Davidson and Williamson counties.
