On June 23, Red Cross disaster volunteers responded to house fire on around noon. The fire took place in the 600 block of Osie St. in Gillespie. The fire, which started in the basement, affected a family of 8. Firefighters were able to put out the fire but the home is uninhabitable. Thankfully, no one was hurt or injured. The Red Cross provided for the family's emergency needs including food.
