Resolve to Give to Red Cross and Help People in Need

Give Something that Means Something
Give Something That Means Something.

As thousands of people across the country try to recover from the recent devastating tornadoes, flooding and winter storms, the clock is ticking down on 2015 and many of you are thinking about those New Year’s resolutions.

Even before the recent storms which hit community after community over the Christmas holiday, thousands of people looked to the American Red Cross for help this year – fire and flood victims, members of the Armed Forces, hospital patients needing blood. Please remember them and give something that means something by making a tax-deductible donation to the Red Cross before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Making charitable contributions at the end of the year is part of many holiday traditions. The Red Cross depends on these end-of-year donations to provide support, strength and hope to people in need and urges everyone to visit here to see how they can support the Red Cross mission.

STILL TIME TO SHOP THE CATALOG You can still flip through the 2015 Red Cross Holiday Gift Catalog and buy a symbolic gift. Your purchase will support the Red Cross mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies.

Do you know anyone impacted by disaster? Maybe you would prefer a gift that can help provide food, shelter and comfort to someone rebuilding their life after a disaster. Donations can support warm blankets, hot meals or a toothbrush, soap and other essential personal care supplies for someone impacted by disaster.

Have members of your family served in the military? If so, you might want to purchase a military comfort kit filled with a robe, shower shoes, toiletries and a music gift card for those who have been wounded.

Looking to help change the world? The Holiday Gift Catalog contains a number of gifts to bring Red Cross services to people in crisis overseas. These include vaccinations against deadly diseases or an emergency kit which provides a month of supplies for a family overseas—including a cooking set, toilet paper, toothbrushes, water containers and blankets.

The purchase of each symbolic catalog item is a tax-deductible contribution that supports the mission of the Red Cross. The catalog gifts are contributions toward a Red Cross program area, not a donation to a specific project or item.

Your donation to the American Red Cross helps where it’s needed most—please give something that means something before the clock strikes midnight on December 31. Happy Holidays!
