The event features a timed 5K road race and two mile “Family Fun Walk.” All of the proceeds will be donated to the Northeastern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross to help support local disaster relief services.

More than $7,000 was raised at last year’s race. The entrance fee is $25 per person and free t-shirts will be given to all registered participants.

“This race has grown significantly from year to year and we see a range of people participate, from serious runners to families with strollers, who come out to support the Red Cross,” added Zimmerman.

“I believe the Red Cross Club at Siena has reinforced the American Red Cross mission by demonstrating how youth and students can positively influence the community,” said Ashley Yackeren, President of the Siena Red Cross Club. “I love this event because I get to see all of the club’s hard work paying off.”
