Student Uses Musical Talents to Raise $3,300 for Red Cross
"I want to take advantage of my friends’ and my musical talents and put it to good use through an internationally well-known charity like the Red Cross." - Arielle Isack

Arielle Isack of Pacific Grove High School and some of her friends raised more than $3,300 for the Red Cross through a series of benefit concerts in her backyard.

Her first concert was in May 2011 to benefit victims of the Japan Tsunami. In May and December 2012, the 14-year-old cellist decided to raise funds for the Red Cross Measles Initiative to increase awareness about the prevalence of measles in Africa.

“People living here tend to forget about measles since it is not prevalent here,” Isack said. “But I want to take advantage of my friends’ and my musical talents and put it to good use through an internationally well-known charity like the Red Cross.”
