We have all been struck by the loss and ongoing struggle of the victims of Sandy

TEG Federal Credit Union announced today that it has donated $21,000 to the American Red Cross to help support ongoing relief efforts in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. A check was presented at TEG’s Commerce Street Headquarters to Darryl Lafferty, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of the Mid-Hudson Valley, by TEG’s Chairman of the Board, Walter V. Behrman, Jr.; President & CEO, Ronald A. Flaherty; and CFO, Thomas I. Gay.

TEG collected $1,000 in donations from its members in each of its six branches and made a corporate donation of $20,000. The funds will assist the American Red Cross’ ongoing relief operations, which are providing food, water, shelter, supplies, and comfort to those who continue to be affected in the aftermath of the storm.

“We have all been struck by the loss and ongoing struggle of the victims of Sandy,” said Flaherty.

“This storm hit very close to home and affected friends and loved ones of our members and staff. TEG is proud to support the incredible relief efforts of the American Red Cross. We hope our donation will provide comfort during this difficult time and help families rebuild their lives in the wake of this disaster.”

“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from TEG Federal Credit Union,"said Lafferty. "It’s been several weeks since Sandy struck, and the Red Cross is still responding in parts of New York and New Jersey providing shelter, meals, comfort and support.”
