In addition to live entertainment, the event includes a “Mess Hall” with food provided by Max & Rosie’s Bar, “The Swamp” with games of chance, raffles, and prizes, as well as a play area for kids.

American Red Cross is holding their annual summer fundraising party – B*A*S*H – on Friday, July 26 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. The event is presented by Marathon Petroleum Corporation and features a fun theme based upon the popular television series MASH. Live music from local favorite Tongue ‘n’ Groove will be one of this year’s highlights.

In addition to live entertainment, the event includes a “Mess Hall” with food provided by Max & Rosie’s Bar, “The Swamp” with games of chance, raffles, and prizes, as well as a play area for kids. Tickets for the event are just $5 at the gate. All proceeds from the benefit the American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter.

Local Red Cross Executive Director Todd James says the theme helps Red Cross B*A*S*H stand out from other summer events. “By setting up our version of the 4077th, with the Swamp, Rosie’s Bar, Radar’s Kids Corral, and all the elements of one of the best TV shows of all time, we’ve made it even more fun for everyone.” James says there will also be a Photo-77th Picture Studio by Keepsake Portraits where guests can get a special souvenir photograph taken for a donation.

This year’s event is being held in July, a move from its usual date in September. James says the earlier date is in response to feedback from previous attendees. “One consistent remark we heard was that people wanted to have the party earlier in the summer, so they could stay later and keep having fun.” James said the B*A*S*H planning team talked to local event organizers, including the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Arts Partnership and chose the new date. “There was a period from June through July where there wasn’t a large scale event in the community, so we decided to move to our new date and keep the summer party season going.”

“It takes a lot of planning and manpower to make B*A*S*H fun and successful. We have a great planning team led by Mollie Zinser from our board of directors,” says James. Joining Zinser on the volunteer planning team are Eric Grubb, Lien Hang, Gwen Pahl, Libby Stults, Meg Stevens, and Collen Crawford.

In addition to the presenting sponsor, Marathon Petroleum Company, additional B*A*S*H sponsors include The Courier, Ohio Logistics, Blanchard Valley Health Association, Clouse Construction, Whitson Properties, The Heritage, Rowmark, ProMedica Urgent Care at NWO, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, Findlay Elks, Findlay Kiwanis, Flag City Morning Rotary, Gibson Concrete, Plumbline Solutions, Hancock County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and National Lime & Stone Company.
